I was almost knocked off my chair when I was offered a sample of a $599.00 eye cream to review for EverBeautiful.com.
$599.00! What’s it made of? Gold?
Well yes, in fact, it is! Gold Elements Truffles Infusion Brightening Eye Cream is made of gold and truffles and other decadent and nourishing ingredients.
I was unaware of using truffles in skin care products (and no wonder. They cost $500.00/pound at my supermarket,) so I Googled and found that truffles may be the newest weapon against skin aging. Truffles apparently contain amino acids that help to reduce wrinkles and age spots and also brighten skin. Combine truffles with gold in a moisturizing, nourishing base and you’ve perhaps got the antidote to aging skin. (More on gold as a skin care product in a sec.)
Gold Elements Truffles Infusion Brightening Eye Cream is one of the skin care products from Gold Elements, a company that offers advanced cosmetic treatments in their Gold Elements Spas, found worldwide. And now, products that are sold in their exclusive spas are available online.
Gold? Really?
According to the company’s website, genuine gold has been used in many cultures throughout history to beautify the face and body. For the Gold Elements line of products, the company “pressure mount[s] the gold leaves until a pliable cosmetic golden tissue is formed.” This is then introduced into the product to “allow tiny particles of gold to envelop the top layer of skin, creating a … subtle and radiant sheen. … The residual reflective particles cause light to dance across the skin, minimizing blemishes, wrinkles and fine lines.”
Does It Work?
My hands shook as I opened the beautiful brown and gold packaging of Gold Elements Truffles Infusion Brightening Eye Cream. It’s not every day that I handle cosmetics valued at $599.00. The eye cream has a light and delicate scent – but it has a scent which, frankly, scared me. I am allergic to everything. Wouldn’t it be a horrible thing if I was allergic to this uber expensive and precious eye cream? But, allergies be damned! I was going to try this eye cream at the risk of burning and red eyes. It is, in a word, luxurious. I applied it gently to my under eye area and swore I felt a tightening of the skin. It didn’t burn; it didn’t itch. Instead it left my delicate skin feeling smooth and tight. That’s crazy, I thought. This was the first time I used it. How is this possible? I applied Gold Elements Truffles Infusion Brightening Eye Cream just before bed and worried a bit about waking up with burning, red eyes but instead woke to skin that looked noticeably smoother. Was this my imagination? I skipped my concealer that morning and went on about my day. My manicurist said I looked as if I had gotten a good night’s sleep. Friends asked me what I was using on my eyes. Even my husband who, frankly, wouldn’t notice anything different unless I walked into the kitchen wearing only a pair of socks, complimented me on how I looked. So sweet.
I’ve been using the fabulously expensive and exclusive Gold Elements Truffles Infusion Brightening Eye Cream for a few days now and my eye area looks brighter and smoother. I haven’t worn under eye concealer at all. My makeup looks more vibrant and is easier to apply. And, I have not had any adverse reactions. My sensitive skin loves this stuff!
Admittedly, $599.00 is a lot to pay for an eye cream. But if you have the wherewithal to spring for it, you can get Gold Elements Truffles Infusion Brightening Eye Cream on their website, here.
Please let me know, in the comments, what you think of a $599.00 eye cream. Will you buy it? Did you? If so, did it live up to expectations? Inquiring minds need to know …

I’m so glad I got to try it too. It was very generous of the company to send it to me. (I love my job! Have I mentioned that before?) xo
