I recently received a body scrubber from T. TAiO, a company in Mexico that produces a popular line of bath products. The 19-inch long body scrubber is made of polypropylene, polyester and polyamide and is infused with antimicrobial protection. It’s a nifty body sponge with handles on either side for ease of use. Besides cleansing the entire body, the exfoliating scrubber is said by the company to stimulate blood circulation, eliminate dead skin cells and help control cellulite. Basics first … Many beauty and health experts extol the benefits of exfoliating which improves skin texture by eliminating dry, dull, dead skin cells; reduces the appearance of fine lines; unclogs pores and helps with breakouts. Exfoliating is also a must before you apply self-tanners. It helps them go on smoother and eliminates streaking. Products for exfoliating – body scrubs and sugars, sponges, brushes – are a beauty industry unto themselves. With warm weather (not so) quickly approaching, I was eager to try T. TAiO’s Exfoliating Bath and Shower Back Scrubber. And I wasn’t going to take the name so literally. Oh no. I was going to put that sucker to the test and apply it in places where I’d never used traditional back brushes before. (No, not there. But certainly there. Come on, people. Keep up.) The T. TAiO body scrubber feels slightly coarser than any other sponge I’ve ever used, but becomes softer when it’s wet. It felt great on my back and, because of it’s design, I was able to scrub my back in places that I could reach only if I was a contortionist or had my husband in the shower with me. (“Honey, I have an itch. In the middle of my back. No, higher. To the right now. Now, lower. To the left. More to the left. More to the left. Ahhh.” Sometimes I think my husband must hate me.) I’ve been using T. TAiO’s body scrubber for a couple of week nows – and my skin is definitely softer and smoother. And, to make absolutely certain that the scrubber was exfoliating properly, I used it on one leg only and applied self-tanning lotion to both legs. The difference was visible with the exfoliated leg being streak-free. In addition, there was no dark pigmentation at my knee or heel. The manufacturer recommends that you change your body sponge every 45 days. The T. TAiO Exfoliating Bath & Shower Back Scrubber sells for $3.99. Wow! Very thorough review!
Thanks Keith! I love T. TAiO’s Bath and Shower Back Scrubber. It’s a great product that’s easy to use, dries quickly so it doesn’t get gross in the shower – like some back brushes and loofahs can – and it’s perfect for exfoliating dry skin. With summer coming soon, this is a product that should be hanging in everyone’s shower.
