I received complimentary product for review prior to my writing this post but that it no way affected my review. The opinions below are my own and are honest. #muradskincare

If you’ve spent any time near the cosmetics counters in department stores or the makeup aisles in drugstores, you’ve probably become aware of skin treatments that “blur” the surface of your skin, resulting in less noticeable pores, fine lines and a smoother complexion, overall.

Blurring makeup is a relatively new category of cosmetics and one that, for several of them out there, could use some more time in the development phase. I’ve tried a number of blurring makeups and have been left with little white balls all over my face, foundation that sticks to it and therefore doesn’t go on evenly and ones that just don’t do anything at all.

But there are exceptions.

When blurring makeup works, it actually does what it says. It imparts a soft, almost matte finish to the face and blurs imperfections so that, when you layer foundation over it, fine lines appear less noticeable. Blurring makeups can also be worn alone to impart a smooth matte finish.

So, I bet you want to know one that works, right? Well, I won’t leave you hanging …

It’s Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30.

Murad Invisiblur
Murad Invisiblur Makes My Skin Feel and Look Velvety Smooth

First of all, this stuff is loaded with things that are good for your skin. It has an SPF of 30. It has mushroom peptides which are said to “fight against visible signs of aging to help restore youthful firmness and skin resilience”. And it has Soft-Focus Complex which is said to “instantly smooth skin and blur imperfections.”

Couple of reasons why I like it: It’s not packaged in a jar where the air can get to it and break down important active ingredients. Nope. Murad Invisiblur is dispensed with a pump. Nice. It goes on so smoothly, it actually feels good to apply. My skin feels like velvet. It’s not greasy and it doesn’t tug my skin as it’s applied. (I’ve experienced that too with some blurring products.) Murad Invisiblur makes my skin feel and look soft – and it works immediately.

I haven’t tried it with foundation. I don’t want to yet. I’m just enjoying the way my skin feels with Murad Invisiblur and nothing else. But, if you like, combine it, as the company literature suggests, with your liquid foundation to make your own CC cream for lighter coverage. To address deeper lines, gently pat Murad Invisiblur into deeper lines, let it set for a couple of minutes and then gently pat with liquid foundation to create a smoother complexion. The people at Murad also suggest that you refresh your makeup midday, or any time you feel the need, by blotting off excess oil and applying Murad Invisiblur over your existing makeup. Finish with mineral powder for a smooth, airbrushed look.

Good deal – and seriously, I can’t stop touching my face! It feels velvety smooth and fabulous.
