It’s Spring! Time to shed the heavy layers, buttoned up shirts and turtleneck sweaters and pare down. Warm weather always ushers in skin-baring fashions and this season is no different. Here, some of the trends seen on the runway and in stores:
Pajama Dressing
Givenchy, Alexander Wang, Yigal Azrouel and Prabal Gurung were just some of the designers who embraced the lingerie look for Spring 2016. Thakoon sent his models down the runway in crisp pajama-look sets that are right for day while at Givenchy, it was all about lingerie looks for nights on the town.
Bare Shoulders
The shoulder has been in focus for several seasons, but for Spring 2016, the emphasis is everywhere. X-shaped necklines ruled the runways of Givenchy, Proenza Schouler, Derek Lam and Jason Wu, among others. It’s a flattering silhouette that draws attention to the face and also to the neck and collar bone. Off the shoulder looks and shoulder cutouts were ubiquitous and made it obvious that the shoulder is this season’s erogenous zone, fashionably speaking, that is.
Ruffles
Ruffles were all the rage on Spring 2016 runways. Whether they are delicately detailing the neckline of a flowery spring dress as seen at Alexander McQueen or are treated in a more avant garde manner as seen in the kickass ruffled skirt at Balmain, ruffles rule.
The Collar Bone Necklace
The emphasis on the collar bone continues in jewelry with the newest necklaces hitting below where a choker would and above the decolletage. (The necklace in the above photo from Balmain is a perfect example of this statement jewelry.) The Collar Bone Necklace draws attention to the face and to the line of the neck. The pieces are often bold and eye-catching as seen at Tory Burch and Jill Stuart. For more bold jewelry looks, check out the fabulous jewelry from Lizzie Fortunato, who recently partnered with RoC Skincare to create the LF X RoC Onyx Collar, designed exclusively for Roc of gold-plated brass and semi-precious onyx inlaid stones. (It’s gorgeous! Thank you, RoC for mine! It’s the perfect accessory for this season’s fashions – and beyond!)
With all this emphasis on the neckline, ensure that yours gets the attention it deserves by applying a good moisturizer to the area twice a day. One to try: RoC Skincare’s newest addition to their line, Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Chest, Neck and Face Cream with Broad Spectrum SPF 30.
Did you know that 70% of women say signs of aging on their neck are more noticeable than around their face, yet only 9% use anti-aging products designed specifically for this area?*
RoC’s new Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Chest, Neck and Face Cream is fast-absorbing and nourishing to quickly and conveniently treat this area to help reduce the signs of aging and to hydrate and restore elasticity and firmness. Plus, the SPF helps protect from future sun damage.
