Want to straighten your curly locks in no time flat – and not pay the cost of a salon blowout? Check out the Head Kandy Hair Straightening Ceramic Brush. I did, well, sorta. Read on to see what I mean.
I recently received an email from Head Kandy asking if I wanted to try the Hair Straightening Ceramic Brush and review it for the readers of EverBeautiful.com. My hair, while not stick straight when left au naturel, has neither-here-nor-there waves that are easily styled with a blow dryer and round brush. The Head Kandy Hair Straightening Ceramic Brush, if it performed as promised, would tackle my barely there waves easily. I wanted to give it more of a challenge and, because I have two beautiful curly-haired daughters, I decided to ask one of them to give it a whirl. My daughter, Emily Riess, who spends about $40/week straightening her loose curls on a professional blow dry was happy to volunteer. I wrote back to the company and they sent Em a complimentary Head Kandy Hair Straightening Ceramic Brush. (Please note the receipt of free product in no way affected the following review.)
Here is my beautiful daughter before, during and after styling with the Head Kandy Hair Straightening Ceramic Brush.
Emily’s observations: The brush was easy to use, heated up and straightened her hair quickly. She prefers a bit of wave in her hair at the sides and ends but didn’t achieve that with the Head Kandy Hair Straightening Ceramic Brush which she said is great for those who like a straight, sleek look. She liked using the brush and the overall result, but thought that the design might be better suited to styling, rather than just straightening the hair, if it was round. (Head Kandy designers, take note.) Emily also said that because of the high heat, she recommends that users apply a heat protecting product on their hair first.
I wasn’t with Em when she used the brush but met up with her afterwards. I thought she looked great. Her hair was sleek and shiny but not flat. I asked her if she’d use the Head Kandy Hair Straightening Ceramic Brush again and she said she definitely would. My younger daughter, Victoria, another curly-haired beauty, asked Em if she could borrow the brush. Tori, more often than not, wears her hair curly but likes to change it up now and then – and the Head Kandy Hair Straightening Ceramic Brush will give her the opportunity to do so without having to spend money on a salon blowout.
Couple of things to know: The brush heats up to a max of 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
The brush should not be used on wet or damp hair because the bristles, which heat up, might damage wet hair. Wet hair might also cause the brush to be damaged.
It automatically shuts off after 60 minutes.
It offers varying temperatures for all hair types
The company offers a ten-day money back guarantee.
