Malan Breton presented his Spring/Summer 2016 collection for men and women at New York Fashion Week. Inspired by his recent travels to Taiwan’s Sun Moon Lake, the collection drew from Breton’s background in the arts and incorporated traditional Taiwanese dying techniques and embroidery. Rich blues and pinks dominated the women’s collection and made an appearance for the men as well. While some of the women’s designs were breathtaking, it was the men’s collection that drew the most comments from the audience. Men in floral jackets with hoods, mismatched print suits, and three piece short suits accessorized with prim socks and lace-up shoes strutted down the runway and took onlookers’ breath away. A printed trench coat was a particular favorite of mine.
