Would You Wear Wide-Legged Pants?
They’re baaaack, wide-legged pants, that is – and it’s about time, I say. One of the hottest spring fashion trends, wide-legged pants are flattering to most figures, are easy and comfortable to wear and, in my mind, are a hallmark of warm-weather dressing. Love ‘em!
The trick to wearing wide-leg pants is to keep the top small. Pair them with a tank, tee or cropped top (if you dare! If the pants are high-waisted, which is another trend, a cropped top will only show the most flattering few inches of your midriff so, go for it!)
They say that if you lived through a trend the first time around, you better not wear it the second time around. Hogwash! I adored my 1980s wide-legged pants and jumpsuits and, hell yeah, I’ll be rocking wide-legged pants this spring and summer too. They make you look long and lean, when appropriately accessorized, and are easy to throw on and go.
Another trick to a flattering wide-legged yet lean pants look is to wear them long with a high-heeled sandal or shoe. Trust me, you’ll have legs for miles.
Many designers trotted wide-legged pants down their runways. We saw them in graphic prints, linen, sheer, denim, cropped looks and lots of other fabrics and patterns. A little bit hippie, a little bit boho and a lot chic, wide-legged pants are a refreshing change from skinny jeans. But don’t discard the latter. They’re not going away any time soon.
I’ve scoured some of the country’s best stores to find a selection of wide-legged pants and jeans for your to check out. Prices vary but I found many for under $150.00. Some are on sale so hurry as supplies won’t last. Shop directly through the site below. I’ll be doing just that. Right now. I’ve got my eye on a pair of white wide-legged pants that I plan to pair with any number of colorful tees and sandals. It’s warm-weather dressing at its best and easiest and it’s one of this spring’s fashion trends that can take you from the office to dinner and any number of parties too.
