I have super fine hair that requires a Herculean effort to give it any volume at all. It’s so fine that if I don’t wash it every day, it just lays flat against my head. It’s also gotten thinner as I’ve aged which drives me crazy. I’ll spare you from listing every volumizing product I’ve tried to combat this. Suffice it to say, nothing’s worked. My crowning glory isn’t. The only thing that makes my hair look good is to shampoo in the volume. Now, every beauty expert warns against shampooing hair too often. It’s drying and may exacerbate hair loss. I heed the advice by washing my hair every other day. But on in-between days, I am miserable. It doesn’t matter how much product I use, my hair just lays there. But I may have found a solution …
I was approached by Natrol, Inc. to review their new product NuHair® Foam that’s said to enhance hair rejuvenation for men and women. I agreed to try it and the company sent me a complimentary sample. NuHair Foam contains a natural blend of vitamins, herbs and extracts including chamomile and sage to revitalize the scalp, strengthen texture and promote elasticity; Fo-Ti to support hair growth; vitamin E to encourage growth and vitamin B5 which penetrates the hair cuticle to retain moisture. It also contains rosemary which may help darken gray hair, nettle to revitalize and repair brittle and damaged hair, shea butter and grape seed extract.
I admit my review is premature. I haven’t given the product a long enough time to accomplish its promises, but I’m so encouraged, I just had to share.
NuHair Foam couldn’t be more simple to use. Pump it into your hand a few times and apply it to your hair from the roots to the ends. Then, style as usual. NuHair Foam provides volume and hold and, honestly, my hair looked pretty damn good for having styled it myself. It was smooth and shiny and had a lift at the crown. My bangs, which have a terrible tendency to look limp and lifeless, looked like I’d just had a blowout at the salon. And the style lasted all day through exercising, lunch, a business meeting and dinner. Usually, my hair is a limp mess of flyways by 2 pm.
I applied a little bit of NuHair Foam before I went to bed and, I can hardly believe I’m writing this, when I woke up the following morning, my hair still had volume. I didn’t have to shampoo it in. My hair retained volume from the previous day.
The directions say to use it twice a day for a minimum of four months for optimal results. I just started using it and while it’s too early to attest to NuHair Foam’s rejuvenating properties of slowing down hair loss and defending against graying, I can say that it makes my hair look fuller while maintaining its style. I’m good with that.
One more thing – NuHair Foam is sulfate, paraben, petrolatum, mineral oil and phthalate free.
