Nicole Miller Fall 2013
The inspiration for Nicole Miller Fall 2013 was “raiding the boyfriend’s closet.” I know. That kinda turns me off too. But hang on a second. Miller showed some very wearable menswear-inspired pieces that could be adapted to any woman’s wardrobe, with a bit of restyling. While Miller certainly knows – and designs for her core – read young – audience, that doesn’t mean she excludes women of a certain age. I’m slightly obsessed with her patchwork denim pants suit and gorgeous sheer blouses with velvet trim. Longer menswear-inspired jackets paired well with skinny pants although I’ll pass on Miller’s “tattoage” pattern that makes the wearer look like she’s wearing sleeves of the tattoed-kind. Not good.
