Bright yellow, orange and green; ruched and pleated layers of chiffon; slits cut up to there; sparkle aplenty and, of course, lots of cleavage were what many of television’s most talented women sported on the Emmy Awards red carpet. While, with rare exception (January Jones in Zac Posen and Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuillier), the dresses were pretty but, aside from the color story, there were no major fashion statements.
But pretty dresses are what we want, more often than not. I mean, it’s not every woman who can – or wants to – sport January Jones’s body hugging sheer number.

great choices!! btw- I knucklehead {refuse to call them a fashionista| thought Ginnfer’s gorgeous dress was one of the worst!! but then thought Heidi’s was the best {had to be a guy!}
I liked Ginnifer Goodwin’s dress. Didn’t love it. LOVED January Jones’s dress but not her makeup or hair. Liked but didn’t love Sofia Vergara’s dress – but she is gorgeous in everything and anything. Loved Kat Dennings in the red J.Mendel. OMG! Does that woman have the most perfect skin? She must bathe in sunscreen. And the red on her! Wow! Nothing, except January Jones’s dress blew me away. Her dress was exactly as it was shown on Zac Posen’s runway. But, what else would I expect from her? Wait, what am I saying? She often makes less than flattering choices. Loved the dress last night. Heidi Klum looked beautiful. Dress didn’t thrill me, but the color was great. Lots of prom-y looks last night, even on older women. Oh, I LOVED Allison Williams in that peplum’d emerald green Oscar de la Renta. Straight off the runway. Gorgeous!
