TouchBack Marker
As simple to use as a felt tip pen.

Big event coming up but too busy to make your hair color appointment? Ah, that’s the story of my life. But I found a home hair color touchup tool that came to my rescue. It’s the TouchBack Marker and, as its name implies, it’s as easy to use as a felt tip marker. Simply, paint it on offending grays or unsightly roots, and you’re good to go.

I received an offer to try a free sample of TouchBack Marker weeks ago, right after my hair color appointment in fact, so I tucked it away for later use. Well that happened to be this morning when I glanced in the mirror, noticed some grays around my hairline, looked at my upcoming schedule and realized that there’s no way to fit in a hair appointment between now and the beginning of Fashion Week. (Where did I put that TouchBack Marker?)

When I first received the TouchBack Marker, which, by the way is an Allure Best of Beauty Award winner, a Discover Beauty Award winner, a CEW Beauty Insider’s Choice Award winner and has been touted on Dr. Oz, The Today Show and in a myriad of magazines, I read the directions and thought, “No way anything this easy could work.” But, I assure you, it does. The TouchBack Marker, which retails for $29.95, comes in eight colors, has no ammonia or peroxide, contains conditioners so it’s gentle on hair, dries in a minute, doesn’t flake off and shampoos out. It doesn’t rub off, so you can brush your hair without worry that the brush bristles will remove it and it’s easy to use. (Did I say that already? Well, it bears repeating.) It contains real temporary hair color so it bonds to the hair and blends seamlessly with your permanent or natural hair color.

I’m the sort of person who never reads directions, manuals, how-tos. I just bash on, confident that I’ll figure things out for myself. (This is not a good way to be, by the way and I don’t recommend it.) I popped the top off the TouchBack Marker to reveal a wide tip felt marker and again thought, no way it can be this easy. And, for the first time in a long time, I read the directions which were all of four sentences long. “Apply TouchBack to dry hair. For resistant gray hair, hold the marker on the hair for a few seconds to deposit additional color. At temples and hairline, slide the TouchBack comb under the hair – as close to the scalp as possible – then apply the product. The comb acts as a skin guard around those areas.” As easy as, well, 1,2. And, by the way, as with any hair product, do an allergy test before using. (That’s in the directions too.)

I might call my colorist and move my next appointment forward a couple of weeks. She’s gonna hate me, but, with my TouchBack Marker I’m saving time, money and looking good while doing it.
