Always dreamed of a vacation at New York City’s iconic Plaza Hotel? (I have, I definitely have.) Of course, the Plaza is home to Eloise, the literary character created in the 1950s by Kay Thompson and little girls have enjoyed tea at the Plaza, a la Eloise, for decades. There is also an Eloise Shop, Fashion Room with costumes for dress up and a Library Room to read the Eloise stories and watch videos. Boys may have felt left out. Until now. As of today, the Plaza has unveiled the “Knights of The Plaza” package and one of a kind Tower Suite, making it the perfect destination for families. The package includes a night in the signature Tower Suite, a picnic lunch at Belvedere Castle in Central Park, a Welcome Gift Bag that includes a $100. gift certificate to FAO Schwarz, A Knight at Dawn hardcover book, The Sword in the Stone Disney DVD and other goodies that are sure to appeal to boys and girls. Rates start at $1345. Call 212-546-5219 or visit or write to them at ThePlazaFamilyAmbassador@Fairmont.com.
Kendal Perez, frugal fashionista and bargain shopper, offers the following tips for summer savings.
Save money on sunscreens by opting for a generic or store-brand sunscreen with avobenzone in the ingredient list. This essential component protects against both UVB and UVA rays.

I spend more hours than I care to think about visiting fashion and beauty sites and shopping online. Often, however, I don’t buy at the moment I see something. No, I like to wait a while to see if the item in question is going to go on sale. Of course, I usually forget about the item for too long only to revisit the site too many days later to find it’s no longer available. I’ve not only missed the sale but I’ve lost out on the item altogether. Well, that won’t happen again thanks to Clipix, an online organizational tool that can be programmed to monitor the items I might be interested in purchasing in one central location. With Clipix, I can create an unlimited number of folders (called clipboards), set price drop alerts and share clipboards with others (if I’m so inclined to participate in the social media aspect of the site.) It’s simple to use. Just pin or “clip” items to your clipboards for a virtual shopping list. Ingenious! So, if I’d had Clipix several weeks ago, that Lanvin coat on I can’t remember which department store’s site, but didn’t buy because it was just too expensive, might be hanging in my closet right now. Hm, Clipix might be dangerous to your wallet, but it seems like a great time and money saver. Sign up by visiting http://www.Clipix.com
