Mogul Bethenny Frankel is taking on the beauty market. Notice I didn’t qualify the term mogul because Bethenny Frankel is a mogul in so many areas. She’s a successful businesswoman/personality who recently sold her line of Skinnygirl alcoholic beverages for an undisclosed, yet mongo, amount of money. She is a yoga devotee with a line of popular yoga dvds. (Read my review of her Skinnygirl Workout here.) She is a beloved Bravolebrity, an ex-Real Housewife of New York and star of the show Bethenny Ever After. She has her own line of shapewear and she is a best-selling author. When does she sleep, I wonder? It’s my guess that she doesn’t.
I am going on record to say that I am a fan. Bethenny won me over the first time I saw her as a contestant on Martha Stewart’s Apprentice. She came in second. (Trivia question: Name that season’s winner. Uh huh. I can’t either.)
As a fan, I jumped at the chance to review Bethenny Frankel’s Skinnygirl Daily Tinted Moisturizer, which is part of the recently-launched Skinnygirl Face and Body collection. I asked for my free review sample in Sand. (It’s also available in Beige and Mocha.) I’ve been wearing it for a few days now and, I gotta say, I really like it. “Yeah, yeah, you’re a fan. You’re biased,” you may be thinking. I assure you, I am not. This stuff covers evenly and well; the shade is perfect for my skin tone and (sigh of relief) I’m not allergic to it.
I don’t wear foundation in the warmer months. It’s too heavy looking and feeling, although I need a little coverage to combat my natural ruddiness. Skinnygirl Tinted Daily Moisturizer gives me a matte, but not at all dry, appearance. It’s not greasy looking like some moisturizers tend to be, it contains SPF 15, and – this is key – it does not accentuate fine lines and wrinkles.
The moisturizer is packaged with an attached brush but I prefer to use my fingers to apply it.
Skinnygirl Face Solutions Tinted Daily SPF 15 Moisturizer is available at Walmart for $10.97.
