Today is the start of Wellness Week 2012 (March 19-25, 2012), a nationwide initiative aimed at helping Americans feel and look their best. With that aim in mind, why not participate in a yoga class, gym workout or other physical activity that you’ve never tried before? It may change your life. Here are a few ways to participate in Wellness Week:
- 3,000 Deals at Over 725 Locations: Take advantage of more than 3,000 half-price or $50 deals on services and classes at over 725 spas, gyms, yoga studios, and other businesses nationwide. You can search the full list of participating locations here.
- Free Events Nationwide: Attend a free Wellness Week event in your city. Free events range from a free Spa Beauty Night Out at the Spa at the Mandarin Oriental (Washington, D.C and Miami) to a Walk Sexy and Pain Free Class at Yamuna (New York) to A Day of Free Yoga at Akasha Yoga (Vacaville, CA). You can find the full list of free Wellness Week events here.
- Take the Wellness Week Pledge: Take charge of your health by taking the Wellness Week Pledge, seven simple yet vital steps to wellness, such as changing your breakfast, choosing to walk instead of driving or taking the elevator, and drinking a glass of water before each meal.
In New York City, several leading restaurants and chefs, including David Bouley and David Burke, are also offering specially-priced healthy lunch and dinner menus. You can find the list of participating restaurants here.
