QVC's Wall of Flowers, New York Fashion Week Fashion ShowQVC kicked off NY Fashion Week with a celebrity and designer studded fashion show held at Center 548 in downtown Manhattan. And I was honored to be invited. Before the show began, I spotted Dennis Basso, Lisa Robertson, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Maria Menounos, Olivia Palermo, Mark Bouwer, Isaac Mizrahi, and, sitting in front of me, Nick Chavez – and yes, he looks, up close and personal, exactly as he does on television.

The fashion show was a neat departure for QVC which, for the past several years, has hosted a cocktail party/live broadcast to celebrate NY Fashion Week. Last night’s fashion show was a private event that was not televised. And it was, in a word, fabulous.  It distinguishes QVC as a fashion force and brings a new perspective to the home shopping giant that deserves its place in the fashion world. QVC’s coterie of distinguished designers showed their newest wares – and QVC introduced some new names as well …

The space itself, with it’s soaring ceilings and industrial whiteness, was decorated with two walls of fresh flowers in shades of pink and lilac. Amazing. The audience grooved as models strutted to the music of, among others, Lana del Rey. Designers included names that are familiar to the QVC audience – and fashionistas worldwide – Dennis Basso, Izaac Mizrahi, Camila Alves and Lori Goldstein. QVC also tapped the talents of Fern Mallis, a fashion icon who is credited with organizing and originating Fashion Week. Mallis introduced a line of jewelry inspired by her worldwide travels; Karen Zambos, Vintage Couture who introduced KZ for QVC; Cynthia Vincent, who’s known for her sophisticated casual clothing and accessories; Geren Ford helmed by founder and creative director Geren Lockhart whose watercolor prints knocked me out; Cristina Ehrlich, stylist and designer who is responsible for some of the best looks of Hollywood’s elite; and Mark Zunino, a respected fashion force who dresses some of the biggest and most glamorous women in the entertainment industry.

Shoppers can purchase the designs on QVC on their NY Fashion Week shows airing on Friday, February 10th, 10 to midnight, EST and on Saturday, February 11th, same time.  You can also pre-shop some of the looks by visiting QVC.com

Some photos from the event – and I apologize for the quality of some of them …
