Sundara Jewelry, from the creative mind and hands of Sande Nosonowitz, jewelry designer and yoga devotee and teacher, is inspired by the beauty, strength and grace of yoga. Sundara is drawn from the Sanskrit word for beautiful and is interpreted as inner beauty that flows from grace and wisdom. Nosonowitz’s jewelry is crafted from precious metals and semi-precious stones and each piece is evocative and carefully planned, not only for it’s aesthetic beauty, but for its spiritual meaning as well.
A visit to Sundara Jewelry’s website is a treat unto itself as Nosonowitz’s written descriptions inspire the jewelry lover to not only appreciate the beauty and design of the various pieces in the collection but educate the wearer as to the meaning of each carefully placed stone, pearl and crystal. Facing a big job interview and need to bolster your courage? Choose Sundara’s “Inner Fire” necklace of jade fire agate, Swarovski crystal and sterling silver, $225. Fire agate is thought to be a stone of courage, protection and strength and is said to enhance healing energies. There’s that, yes, and the necklace will look equally great with a business suit or tee shirt and jeans.
There are currently 25 pieces in the ambitious collection, giving you plenty from which to choose. One of my favorites, Sundara “Smoke & Shakti”, $275., is of smoky quartz, violet tourmaline and amethyst. The color mix, graduated stone sizes and cuts, including smoky quartz briolettes that dangle gracefully in front, make for quite a sophisticated necklace. Besides its obvious beauty, perhaps I’m drawn to it for smoky quartz’s ability to dissolve negative energy and stress, enhance thoughts and balance one’s environment. Perhaps it’s that amethyst helps one attain wisdom. Or perhaps it’s the equally fabulous Swarovski crystal and smoky quartz briolette earrings that are included in the purchase price and that will look amazing dangling from my ear lobes.
“It is important to me that the wearer of a piece of Sundara jewelry feels the meaning and passion behind the necklace they are wearing,” says Nosonowitz who adds, “I want everyone who wears Sundara jewelry to feel beautiful inside and out.” I do.

how lovely! i look forward to exploring your website. i love jewelry thats symbolic and keeps negative energy away. i have a sterling silver bear from Sedona thats very special. the pendant is blue turquoise on one side & green opal on the other (a lil schizophrenic). i never take off a juniper seed beed necklace i wear wrapped around my wrist as a bracelet. i was given this as a welcome gift when we stayed at the Mii Amo Spa at the Enchantment Resort which was also amazinng!
Alisa – You’ll love Sundara Jewelry. (It’s by Sande Seidman Nosonowitz.) I also love that, besides its obvious beauty, it’s symbolic and well-thought out. Hope you’ll check out the site. I learned a lot from reading it. And I have to have some of Sande’s pieces. Love them. Your bear sounds amazing and not schizophrenic at all. (That assessment made me laugh.) Is there significance to juniper seeds? I’d love to see it. Please upload pics on EverBeautiful’s FB page of the bear and bracelet. I’d really love to see them and think others will too.
I went on the website right away. What beautiful jewelry, especially with the story that goes with each piece.
I agree, Gail! It’s a great site and the jewelry is gorgeous. I’ve got my eye on several pieces and will decide soonest because I can’t wait to wear them. Sande’s designs look equally great on tees as they do on turtlenecks and I know I’ll wear her pieces forever. Great investment!
