I equate QVC with Beauty. I do. I became a fan of QVC years ago when I first watched – and was enthralled by – a presentation of eyebrow pencil. I’m eyebrow deficient and didn’t really know how to fill in my sparse brows to make them flatter my face. I watched as the QVC beauty expert demonstrated the proper technique on a thin-browed model and, within moments, she had Brooke Shields-worthy brows. I was hooked. Oh, this was my dream. Show and Tell for beauty aficionados! Where else could you see the latest cosmetics and hair products being demonstrated on models by the experts who created them? I was in beauty heaven. So began my relationship with QVC which escalated, as regular readers know, in a television appearance this past April after I’d been chosen, with three other fabulous women, to be part of QVC’s National Makeover Day. It all started with a fashion shoot for a QVC ad in the April issue of Vogue Magazine where we appeared with Dennis Basso, Shoshanna, Josie Maran, Suze Orman and Lisa Robertson. Read about it here and then follow the links for the full story … And yes, it was insane and one of the most fun things I’d ever done.
So you can be certain I’ll be watching Friday, June 3, at 9 am and again at 7 pm (ET) when QVC airs Beauty Newsmakers Face-to-Face for the opportunity to “meet” leading experts in the beauty industry, and to get to know the brains behind the brands. The QVC Beauty Newsmakers Face-to-Face Event will highlight presentations from Josie Maran (Love her! We wore Josie’s eponymous line of amazing and earth-friendly cosmetics for our Vogue shoot and then had the pleasure of being with Josie again during the National Makeover Day show), Dr. Adrienne Denese, Mally Roncal, Laura Geller and more. Plus, viewers (including me!) can take advantage of value pricing and bulk sizes for a limited time to stock up on our favorite WEN cleansing conditioner for the latest innovations at unbeatable prices. (I’ve been using WEN cleansing conditioner since September – long before my personal association with QVC. So, when I got to meet Chaz Dean at a QVC/Vogue party to launch QVC’s 25 To Watch advertising campaign. I told him – ok, I gushed – that his product gave me back my high school hair! It does! And it’s now a staple in my beauty arsenal. I even buy it in smaller sizes for when I travel. It’s something I refuse to be without.)
