To assist with the Japan earthquake and tsunami relief efforts, Unique Vintage, the Burbank, CA-based clothing and accessories boutique that specializes in vintage inspired fashion – from the 1920s flapper era to the mod looks of the 1960s – is donating 20 percent of sales from their umbrella collection to the American Red Cross from March 23rd-April 6th. “Hopefully, it will make a small difference in the lives of people thousands of miles away … and allow those stateside to stay dry at the same time,” says a company spokesperson.
The umbrellas are beautiful and inexpensive (most retail for $25.) and, because 20 percent of sales goes towards Japan earthquake and tsunami relief efforts, can you consider getting an umbrella from anywhere else? I think not.
And, while you’re choosing your umbrella – they make perfect gifts, by the way – check out the rest of their site. It’s really fun.
