Mark your calendars and break into your piggy banks. Chanel’s candy apple red, patent leather 2.55 quilted flap handbag – signed by Karl Lagerfeld – will go on sale Monday, March 14th at BillionDollarBabes.com. The price? $9,989. (But it’s signed and dated on the interior flap by Herr Karl!)
The handbag, which was part of the 2008 Chanel Mobile Art exhibition and is one of only 50 produced, comes wrapped in a limited edition, white Chanel duster bag and arrives in a specially crafted wooden box lined in linen. Included with it are Chanel Mobile Art press books from places around the world such as Hong Kong, Paris and New York and a CD featuring the making of the 2.55 bag. The Chanel Mobile Art exhibition focused on the legendary Chanel quilted bag and was curated by Beaux Arts Magazine Editor-in-Chief Fabrice Bousteau.
The opportunity to own this rare Chanel handbag begins March 14 at 9 a.m. PST on BillionDollarBabes.com. Membership/registration is free.
Psst – if you score the bag, drop me a line. And share, please.
I am so glad it was red and not green so I didnt have to break the bank on this one! However, would love the book and to see the Mobile Art exhibit. Hope its going to a worthwhile charity.
It is beautiful though, isn’t it? I think you can get the book on the website. Check it out.
