Following, some highlights from New York Fashion Week, Fall/Winter 2015. Some trends to watch for: fur (faux or real), high-waisted trousers, camel coats, reinterpreted 1970s looks, midi-skirts and animal prints.
Michael Kors
Fur was a huge trend at NYFW. And, while for Michael Kors, fur is a staple of his F/W shows, it’s done with a different twist this season. Also note the return of midi-length skirt suits with waist-length jackets cinched with narrow, little belts.
Derek Lam
It’s all about reinterpreted essentials at Derek Lam, to wit: cardigans but done looser, trench coats with huge collars and with or without sleeves, high-waisted trousers with front pockets. Note the predominance of camel hair coats. Love!
Christian Siriano
Backstage beauty at Christian Siriano and then the show itself. A veritable feast for the eyes. Animal prints, sleek silhouettes, platform shoes and I predict that we will all be in high-waisted trousers next fall.
Zac Posen
Zac Posen loves women. Every season he turns out a smashing collection of beautiful, flattering clothing that enhance the body and show it at its best. Check out this quickie First Look at his Fall/Winter 2015 Collection and don’t miss the show stopping gown on Naomi Campbell.
Bibu Mohapatra
Another one of my favorites, Bibu Mohapatra creates some of the most beautiful evening looks there are.
