The temperatures are in the 70s but the forecast informs that summer is over and colder temperatures are on the way. While I hope for much milder weather than last year’s freeze, it is nice to wrap myself in snuggly sweaters, turtlenecks and scarves, especially when I see this fall’s fashion trends. Oversized sweaters, coats, jackets and pants; extreme turtlenecks; robe coats and wide-leg pants are among some of the more popular trends for fall/winter 2014/15.
Check out EverBeautiful.com‘s Fall Fashion Trends and Shopping Guide. I’ve linked to shops like Nordstrom, Saks and Bloomingdale’s so everything below is just a click away from being delivered directly to your door.
Enjoy!
Turtlenecks
I love turtlenecks and cowlnecks. They’re warm and cozy and bring full attention to your face. This year’s crop is bigger and better than ever. (Some of the turtlenecks can be pulled up over your head and worn like a hood. Scarves are optional with this look.)
Robe Coats
This is one of my favorite trends. I love to wrap myself up in a coat that’s as warm and snuggly as my favorite robe. And when they look as chic as the ones pictured, winter can’t come soon enough for me.
Thigh High Slits
Does anyone remember that iconic photo of Kendall Jenner in a white and gold Fausto Puglisi dress with double slits that came up to her hipbones? Kendall wasn’t the first to rock this trend but she definitely drew attention to it. Thigh high (and higher) slits are all the rage, especially for evening wear. Do you dare?
Backpacks
Backpacks are another of my favorite fashion trends for Fall 2014. I hoard handbags and have several older generation backpacks that I can wear this fall. But, with this latest crop of great-looking backpacks, I could use a new one (or two.)
Wide Leg Pants
Don’t give up your skinny jeans or leggings. They are in fashion this fall – and are ubiquitous. But it’s nice to change it up with a pair of wide-leg pants. Pair them with a shorter, to-the-waist sweater and a pair of high heeled boots and you’ve got a great look for the season.
Red and Pink
Fall is traditionally the season for gray, brown and black – and this fall is no exception. Gray is hot, yes, but so are pink and red. Here, my favorite red-hot reds (and pinks.)
